TERMS & CONDITIONS
Art. 1 – Definitions
For the purposes of these General Terms and Conditions:
LUGGAGE STORAGE: the area designated for customers to deposit luggage and/or small personal items in automatic lockers/miniboxes, including fixtures and related administrative organisation.
DEPOSITOR / CUSTOMER: the individual using the Luggage Storage service, whether booking and/or paying on the premises via the automatic payment machine or online via the website.
ONLINE BOOKING: a reservation made in advance through the Self Luggage Storage website, with payment completed online.
ON-SITE PAYMENT (MACHINE PAYMENT): use of the Luggage Storage service paid directly at the automatic machine located on the premises.
The luggage storage service consists of storing luggage/items in automatic lockers/miniboxes from the day and time they are deposited until the day and time they are collected, subject to the limits set out in these Terms.
Art. 2 – Items permitted in the luggage storage
At the moment of leaving the luggage, the Depositor declares that such luggage does not contain any items prohibited under Art. 3.
The following items may be stored, provided they do not exceed the capacity of the selected locker: suitcases, bags, travelling bags, backpacks, keys, personal items and documents. All luggage must be properly closed.
In any case, Self Luggage Storage shall not be liable for money, jewellery, precious metals, business documents or valuables in general placed in the lockers, which are expressly excluded from permitted items.
Luggage may be deposited by the owner, carrier, authorised representative, or by the person materially in possession of the luggage.
Self Luggage Storage reserves the right, at its sole discretion and for security or legal reasons, to inspect the contents of stored luggage.
THE DEPOSITOR IS FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENTS OF THE LUGGAGE AND GUARANTEES THAT IT DOES NOT CONTAIN PROHIBITED ITEMS.
Art. 3 – Luggage not permitted for storage
The following items are strictly forbidden:
Items that are flammable, perishable, emit strong odours, or may damage the premises or other luggage;
Money, jewellery, precious metals, business documents, samples and valuables in general;
Luggage weighing more than 25 kg;
Animals or plants;
Perishable foodstuffs;
Illegal, hazardous or dangerous materials under national or EU law;
Pornographic or indecent materials;
Firearms, bladed weapons or weapons of any kind;
Narcotics or psychotropic substances;
Trash or waste of any kind.
Access is permitted only to persons over 18 years of age or to minors accompanied by an adult.
The Customer must:
Verify luggage size before booking or depositing;
Ensure the locker door is correctly closed;
Remove all belongings when collecting luggage for the last time.
Art. 4 – Opening hours
The Luggage Storage is open to the public every day from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm.
Art. 5 – Security
The premises are monitored by 24/7 video surveillance.
Telephone assistance (Italian and English) is available daily from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Art. 6 – Access for service and security reasons
Access to the Luggage Storage is always permitted to authorised staff and to law enforcement authorities.
THE CUSTOMER EXPRESSLY ACCEPTS THAT AUTHORISED OFFICERS MAY OPEN AND INSPECT LUGGAGE AT ANY TIME FOR SECURITY OR LEGAL REASONS.
Art. 7 – Booking modalities and luggage deposit
7.1 On-site payment (machine payment)
Customers using the automatic payment machine deposit luggage immediately and pay according to the rates displayed on the premises.
7.2 Online bookings
Customers may reserve a locker online by selecting:
Date and start time of deposit;
Duration (hourly or daily);
Locker size (where applicable).
Payment for online bookings is made in advance via the website.
Art. 8 – Charges
Charges are displayed on the premises and on the website and may vary depending on booking modality.
Lockers – hourly rates
2 hours: €4.50
4 hours: €10.00
6 hours: €15.00
7–24 hours (or end of day): €20.00
More than 24 hours: €20.00 + €20.00 per additional day
Daily storage – minibox
First day: €7.50 (8:00–23:00)
Each additional day: €4.00
Art. 9 – Late arrival for online hourly bookings
For online bookings with hourly duration, the selected start time is binding.
If the Customer arrives later than the booked start time, additional fees apply as follows:
Up to 2 hours delay: €5.50
Up to 4 hours delay: €10.50
Up to 6 hours delay: €15.50
Art. 10 – Maximum storage duration and uncollected luggage
10.1 Online bookings
For online bookings:
Hourly booking: locker remains reserved for 24 hours from the booked start time;
1-day booking: locker remains reserved for 24 hours from the booked start time;
2-day booking: locker remains reserved for 48 hours from the booked start time;
3-day booking: locker remains reserved for 72 hours from the booked start time.
After the applicable time period has elapsed, the luggage will be considered uncollected and Self Luggage Storage shall have the right to open the locker and dispose of the contents at its discretion, without any obligation to compensation.
10.2 On-site machine payments
For luggage deposited via on-site payment, items not collected within 31 days are considered abandoned.
Self Luggage Storage may sell, destroy or retain such luggage and its contents without compensation.
Art. 11 – Collection of luggage
The Depositor may collect luggage during opening hours, subject to payment of any outstanding balance or additional fees accrued due to extended storage or late arrival.
Art. 12 – Forgotten luggage return
Any return of forgotten luggage must be arranged by the Depositor at their own cost, including courier organisation.
Art. 13 – Liability
Self Luggage Storage is not liable for damage, loss or deterioration of luggage unless caused by proven negligence.
No liability is accepted for force majeure events, including but not limited to earthquakes, flooding or other natural disasters.
Art. 14 – Insurance
Insurance coverage is provided by Biasotto Assicurazioni SAS.
Art. 15 – Amendments
By using the service, the Depositor accepts these Terms and Conditions in full.
Self Luggage Storage reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be published on the website and made available on the premises.
Art. 16 – Jurisdiction
Any dispute arising from these Terms shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Venice.
Art. 17 – Translation
This English version is provided for convenience only. In case of discrepancies, the Italian version shall prevail.
